A gymnasium is available to patients. Improving one's level of fitness is encouraged as an important part of therapy.

For those who are well enough, there are supervised day hikes and picnics in the surrounding foothills. Horse riding and tubing can also be arranged. The area is a well known and popular haunt for those interested in bird watching.
