Procedure Upon Arrival

  • On arrival at Riverview, you will be required to inform gate security of your name and reason for admission onto the premises.
  • You will be requested to proceed to the main reception area, where our admissions co-ordinator or our patient liaison officer will welcome you.
  • Should you need a pre-admission assessment, an appointment will be made for you to see one of our psychologists or our Medical Doctor.
  • When you have been declared suitable for admission, you will be requested to complete admission forms. You will require medical aid numbers (where applicable), ID numbers, referring doctors’ details and family contact details.
  • lease ensure that the forms are completed as comprehensively as possible.
    When you are ready, you will be asked to hand in your cell phone, money and any other valuables for safekeeping.
  • When the administrative part of your admission has been completed, you will be escorted to the duty room with your luggage. Trained nursing assistants will search your luggage in your presence, to ensure that no drugs and harmful items are being brought into the facility.
  • A Professional nurse will record your history and discuss with you any relevant details necessary for your treatment and care at Riverview.
  • To ensure that you settle in as soon as possible, someone will be allocated to show you around the facility.
